MaMA Festival & Convention

PARIS / Pigalle – Montmartre

Philippe Le Breton

Philippe is a sort of “Jack of all trades” in the MaMA team: not only is he in charge of partnerships for the music & convention event, he is also on the artistic committee.

Philippe started his career in the 90s as an activist in the plastic arts and music industries, working with several groups and organisations in Rennes (2 mains la liberté, anticlockwise, 3 p’tit tour, bars’n breizh). He also worked as a freelance music journalist, writing for several local and national publications. In 1999, he then joined the team at Bars en Trans and Yapucca production company (Louise Attaque, Emir Kusturika, Married Monk, Armens…) as communications and production manager.

In 2003, Philippe’s career took a new direction, joining the media sales industry (Régie Publicitaire nationale de la presse indépendante) as head of music for advertising and also became the programmer of Bars en Trans festival in Rennes.

In 2016, he became the artistic director of Bars en Trans.

His heart clearly sways between Paris and Rennes, as Philippe has been coming to MaMA since its inaugural edition, and he even organised the much-loved Live in Montmartre-Pigalle.

Once again, Philippe is waiting to receive your best tracks, to make a space for you on the MaMA 2022 line-up!
